Kalahari Red Goat
The Kalahari Red Goat is very popular amongst commercial farmers producing heavy, weight gaining kids and having the ability to thrive and survive in Australia's harsh outback conditions.
The Kalahari Red goat was bred from a need to have a hardy and resilient meat goat with the ability to breed all year round. They have superlative mothering skills and great camouflaging qualities. Their love of scrub and bushes higher off the ground makes them also more resilient to parasites.
The adaption at camouflaging with 100% pigmentation has its benefits, coping with extreme temperatures and predators unable to get sight of the goats. Losses for farmers are decreased and profits increased. Does will either hide their kids in trees or scrub or will have no hesitation confronting predators head on. Twins are the standard and triplets common for most Kalahari Red goat births.
